The Sabbath is Not Sunday Just Like 7 is Not 1

The Sabbath is Not Sunday Just Like 7 is Not 1

If a math professor tells you that 7 = 1 and to write it on any test you have in the future, would you actually do it? If you go to the bank to withdraw $7 and the bank teller gives you $1, but says you have $7 in your hand, would you keep your money in that bank? If a doctor tells you to take medicine 7 times per day, when the prescription says only once a day, and the doctor explains that 7 times is the same as 1, would you continue seeing that doctor?

In each of these situations, you and I would not be foolish to receive guidance from people who say that 7 = 1.

Seven NEVER equals one! NEVER!

But when it comes to the Bible, billions of people receive spiritual guidance from people who say 7 = 1. Shocking isn’t it?

Do You Accept 7 = 1?

I found out that unknowingly, I was one of them. I had been told and believed that 7 = 1. How? I went to church on Sunday, the first day (1st) day of the week, when the ten commandments say the seventh (7th) day is the day of worship. As shown in this next video, the Bible clearly states the opposite of what most people do, the simple truth, that 7 ≠ 1.

Biblically, 7 ≠ 1

Exodus 20:8-10 – “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God…”

God states that the 7th day is the day to worship God. This day is called the Sabbath. In addition to the Bible, the calendar and dictionary also show that the 7th day is Saturday. But in all the churches I attended before, they said the 7th day is Sunday. When I found this out, I thought there might a valid explanation, but there cannot be. I saw that churches believe 7 = 1. Here’s how.

If I ask them, “Which day did Jesus rise from the dead?” They say, “Sunday.” The Bible defines this as the first (1st) day of the week.

Mark 16:9 – When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week

In summary, their understanding is like this…

  • Worship (Sabbath) Day = 7th day (Sunday)
  • Resurrection Day = 1st Day (Sunday)
  • Therefore, 7 = 1 (Sunday)

Yes, these are the people I can have confidence in. I can rest assured that my soul is in good hands in that church. I am being sarcastic, of course. No way! Are there two Sundays in the 7 days of the week? I don’t think so! I would not let them hold my money, and definitely not receive spiritual guidance if this is difficult to understand and follow. God is a God of order, and counting is the lowest level of order!

Why Don’t Churches Admit their Fault Keep the Sabbath Day?

Not understanding is one thing. However, understanding and not following is worse. As explained in the video, some admit that 7 ≠ 1, they are wrong and still won’t change, or tell their members! This is nothing new.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 – What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.

2,000 years ago, the Pharisees and the Sadducees, teachers of the Law did the same thing as teachers of the bible today. Jesus explained in the book of Mark what they do.

Mark 7:13 – “Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.”

Saturday is the day of worship, the Sabbath Day, according to the Bible. They keep the tradition of Sunday worship, nullifying the word of God. Surprised? You shouldn’t be! And on top of that, they do many other things like that. It doesn’t end with the Sabbath Day. They overlook many other important points to our salvation, in addition to the Sabbath Day. I have shared a few articles below which shed some light on how deep this rabbit hole goes.
