The Name of the Holy Spirit is Ahnsahnghong?

The Name of the Holy Spirit is Ahnsahnghong?

I was baptized in the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) after my second Bible study in the church. After studying many topics in the Bible, the last topic I studied was about baptism. Although I had been baptized before when I was a baby, there was one thing I didn’t know. The name of the Holy Spirit. Why is it important to know the name? Because Jesus taught us to be baptized in the name of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit Has a Name

Matthew 28:18 – Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”

I thought, “What? There’s a name for the Holy Spirit? No one ever talked about that in church.” Well, they didn’t talk much about the Bible beyond saying, “God is Good” or “Jesus is my personal savior,” or worse, “Jesus is my homeboy.”

When I looked at the verse it is very simple to see that the Holy Spirit had to have a name. Thinking of what it could be, they asked me, “What is the name of the Father?” “Jehovah, or Yahweh,” I answered.

“Then what is the name of the son?” I said, “Jesus.” These were simple questions. Finally, they asked, “Then what is the name of the Holy Spirit?” I thought to myself, “After reading this verse, is it possible for the Holy Spirit not to have a name?”

The pattern was clear to me. The first two definitely had names, so all three probably have names.

More Testimony About the Name

So this verse brought me to a crossroads in my life. At this point, I was almost convinced that Ahnsahnghong was the name of the Holy Spirit. There were two groups of people telling me two opposite things:

  • Church A says that there is no name of the Holy Spirit
  • Church B says there is the name of the Holy Spirit

Someone is right and someone is wrong. And only the Bible could settle this dispute.

Revelation 3:12-13 – and I will write on them my new name. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

The Holy Spirit Himself said that not only does He have a name, but it’s a new name! This message is for the churches, then how can any church say the Holy Spirit doesn’t have a name? Again…

Revelation 2:17 – Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.

Two times, the Holy Spirit said He would have a new name. Clearly, the church that says there is no name of the Holy Spirit is wrong!

Both times the Holy Spirit says whoever has ears let them hear. I have ears, and both of them work well! And I have eyes to see the writing in the Bible. Who can follow the church that says the Holy Spirit has no name? It’s the exact opposite of the Bible! The churches I went to before that said there was no name of the Holy Spirit are all wrong! They told me that the name of the Holy Spirit is Ahnsahnghong.

After Realizing the Name of the Holy Spirit

As soon as I realized this, I believed in the new name, and was baptized in the new name, because not only did I need the proper baptism to receive forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38), knowing the name of God identifies you as God’s people.

Isaiah 52:6 – Therefore my people will know my name; Therefore in that day they will know that it is I who foretold it. Yes, it is I.

God’s people know the name of God. I earnestly hope you take the new name of the Holy Spirit seriously and see, through the Bible that that new name is Ahnshanghong. He is the Christ.

Now you may be wondering, “Why is Ahnsahnghong the name of the Holy Spirit?” Check out these posts.

In order for us to have the correct baptism we must be baptized in the name of the Holy Spirit. Many Christians don’t know this fact. However, when you study the Bible prophecy about the Second Coming Christ, it clearly say he will come with a new name.
