When Jesus was living, He established one church with His teachings. Today there are over 850 different church denominations, each with their own church and own teachings. Then, which church did Jesus Christ establish?
Looking at the image below, answer the question. Which one is McDonald’s?
Obviously Option B is the correct answer. In McDonald’s you would expect to find Big Macs, McGriddles and McFlurries. What if a place called itself McDonald’s and sold Whoppers? Can you call that place McDonald’s? Absolutely not. What will happen when McDonald’s corporate finds out that one of their restaurants sells Whoppers? Do you think McDonald’s will accept that restaurant? Of course not.
What products the restaurant produces determines the name of the place. A restaurant is not McDonald’s simply based on the name, or a sign outside. In the same way, what happens inside the church lets us know if a church is the one Jesus Christ established. The following video explains what went on inside the Church Jesus established.
Which Church Did Jesus Christ Establish?
Jesus Christ established the church that kept Passover, Sabbath, baptism and the veil regulation.
- The New Covenant Passover (Luke 22:19-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
- Worship on the Sabbath (Luke 4:16, Acts 17:2)
- Baptism (Matthew 3:16, Acts 2:38)
- Veil (1 Corinthians 11:1-4)
If the church doesn’t practice the things Jesus practiced inside the church, is that the church Jesus established?
What Happened to the Church that Jesus Established?
How did Christians go from keeping Sabbath to Sunday, celebrating Passover to Christmas and forgetting the veil regulation and Pentecost? When you look in history you can see that people changed the teachings of Jesus to their own.
- 155 AD – Passover Controversy (some moved passover date to resurrection day
- 197 AD – Dominical Rule Enforcement (Passover held on 1st Sunday after Passover). Western churches followed Rome (Dominical Rule). Eastern church rejected it.
- 321 AD – Sabbath Abolished in Constantine’s Edict. Sunday (dies venerabilis solis) Instituted
- 325 AD – Passover Abolished in Constantine’s Edict
So the church changed from the church established by Jesus to the church established by those people. If those people have authority to allow you to enter heaven, then follow them. But we know they have no such authority. The church Jesus established hasn’t been around for a long time because people changed the practices of the church from the teachings of Jesus, visible in the Bible, to their own teachings, not in the Bible.
The World Mission Society Church of God
Though many churches give excuses for following teachings not from the Bible, the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) does not. The Church of God practices Passover, Sabbath, Baptism, veil regulation and Pentecost just like Jesus and the members of the Early Church. In addition, there are so many other teachings that they follow in accordance to the words of Jesus Christ. Please look into the Bible and you will see that the church Jesus established is the Church of God.
