The WMSCOG Does not Believe in Jesus?

When the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) says they believe in Christ Ahnsahnghong, does it mean that the WMSCOG does not believe in Jesus? This claim discourages people who firmly believe Jesus is the christ form visiting the church.

I’ve experienced this firsthand. When I first came to the Church of God and explained to my family about Christ Ahnsahnghong, they thought I did not believe in Jesus anymore. However, the reason we believe in Christ Ahnsahnghong is because we believe in Jesus Christ. Second Coming Christ actually is supposed to teach the teachings of Jesus from 2,000 years ago.

John 16:7 (NLT) But when the Father sends an Advocate as my representative — that is, the Holy Spirit — he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.

Jesus Christ Himself said that the Holy Spirit, Second Coming Christ, would come and teach us everything Jesus taught us 2,000 years ago. So if the WMSCOG believes the words of Jesus, then Christ Ahnsahnghong would teach the teachings of Jesus and the WMSCOG would obey those teachings. Let’s see if the WMSCOG does not believe in Jesus by seeing if they follow His teachings.

The Sabbath Day Taught by Jesus

Luke 4:16 – He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom.

It was Jesus’ custom to keep the Sabbath day and study the Scriptures. Apostle Paul and the Early Church also kept the Sabbath day (Acts 17:2), even after Jesus Christ was crucified and ascended to heaven. However, the Sabbath day was abolished in AD 321 and Sunday worship was introduced. All churches today follow Sunday worship. The World Mission Society Church of God keeps the Sabbath day, as shown on its website:

The Passover Taught by Jesus

Jesus Christ sent his disciples — Peter and John — to prepare to celebrate the New Covenant Passover.

Luke 22:8 – Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.”

Instead of celebrating it with animal sacrifice, as it was customary according to the Law of Moses, Jesus celebrated the Passover with bread and wine.

Matthew 26:26-28 – While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”

Through the New Covenant Passover, Jesus promised His disciples His own flesh and blood, which grants eternal life. Apostle Paul also kept the New Covenant Passover just as Jesus Christ kept it with the Twelve, and he taught the Early Church to celebrate the Passover (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). However, there were three controversies concerning the Passover and finally in AD 325, Roman Emperor Constantine (who was also a high priest in paganism) abolished Passover at the Council of Nicea.

After that, churches began keeping communion, celebrating Easter and Christmas, and other teachings that didn’t come from Christ. While other churches don’t keep the Passover taught by Jesus, the WMSCOG does. They also list Passover on their website.

The New Name of the Savior Taught by Jesus

Two thousand years ago, the disciples believed in Jesus because they believed in Jehovah God. They believed the Scriptures prophesied that God the Father Jehovah would be born as a child and be called the Son of God.

Isaiah 9:6 – For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

When God was born on this earth as a son, he no longer played the role of the Father but now He was on the earth, playing the role of a son. And when he came in the human form, he also had a new name — Jesus.

But Jesus also prophesied He would come a second time with a new name.

Revelation 3:11-13 – I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. […] and I will also write on them my new name. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Jesus said He would come with a new name in the age of the Holy Spirit. Other churches do not teach about the new name of Christ or do not even know there is a new name. The WMSCOG follows this teaching from Jesus also.

Who Says the WMSCOG does not Believe in Jesus?

The people who say the WMSCOG does not believe in Jesus need to check if they believe in Jesus. Are they following the teachings of Christ? There are so many other teachings taught by Jesus that the WMSCOG follows and other churches do not. The World Mission Society Church of God believes in the teachings of God in the Bible, teaching the prophesies about God coming in the flesh the first time as Jesus Christ and the second time as Christ Ahnsahnghong.

Believing in the new name of Christ does not mean we do not believe in Jesus. After all, Jesus said the Holy Spirit would remind us of everything Jesus taught. Christ Ahnsahnghong who has reminded us of the Sabbath, Passover, Feasts of God, the new name of Christ, veil regulation and so many more teachings from Jesus. Please come and study at the Church of God so that you can fully understand the mysteries of God in the Bible.

Thanks for sharing your experience! And it’s very true. We believe Christ Ahnsahnghong at the WMSCOG BECAUSE we believe in Jesus Christ. Otherwise there’s no way we could know he fulfilled the prophecies that Jesus left about his second coming.

That’s crazy! Of course the church of God believes in Jesus! He’s the savior in the age of the son. Crazy how these rumors get spread that we don’t.
